Royal Mail - Delivery Updates

Royal Mail are still experiencing delays to deliveries in many parts of the country. Those areas which are now clear from bad weather are being delayed by a backlog of deliveries and extra volumes of post due to Christmas.

Taken from their website, updated this morning at 9.15

"Services in Scotland, Northern Ireland, South East England, the North East, and the Anglia region continue to be affected by the recent bad weather. A number of air services were not able to operate out of Edinburgh last night and contingency flights laid on to and from Prestwick were also disrupted. Several rail services were also cancelled to and from the Scottish Distribution Centre. Contingency road services have been used to facilitate the movement of mail between Scotland and the rest of the country.

Weather conditions are continuing to cause problems for our services in Scotland. In those parts of the country where the weather conditions have created difficulties for us, but which are now improving, we will be attempting all deliveries and collections today. There may, however, be a delay to mail being delivered, as we catch up and deliveries may be made at a different time than normal."

We do apologise for any delays, and recommend the use of Special Delivery as these deliveries are still being prioritised although not guaranteed.
Please visit the Royal Mail website for more information on deliveries and delays for your area.
