We do apologise for any delays in Royal Mail deliveries. We recommend tracking your item online using the Royal Mail 'track and trace" facility. We also recommend visiting the Royal Mail website for regular service updates for your area. We are very sorry for the delivery problems, but due to extreme weather conditions in some parts of the country and the extra volume of Christmas mail, this has caused some unavoidable delays.

The following statenment is taken from the Royal Mail website today, Wednesday 22nd December, updated at 8.45am.

"Despite more heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures in some parts of the UK, mail collection and delivery services are operating across the majority of the UK's 3000 postcode sectors.

Severe weather conditions are impacting upon some of our collection, transportation, processing and delivery of mail in some regions, but we are doing all we can to keep mail moving and being delivered to customers as quickly as possible this week.

Mail deliveries are taking place to the majority of UK addresses today.
  • Severe weather conditions in some areas is affecting some deliveries and collections in parts of Wales, Northern Ireland, the north of Scotland, as well as parts of the South West, the Midlands, North West and South East.
  • Please check the regional pages using the links below, for more information.
  • Whilst weather conditions are difficult in some areas, we are collecting and delivering wherever we can safely do so.
  • The impact of the weather conditions on our national mail network, including air, rail and road transportation, in addition to large seasonal mail volumes means customers may experience some delays to mail being delivered in some areas.
We're doing everything we can to deliver mail to customers in time for Christmas, including:
  • Keeping each local situation under regular review so we can access more areas, addresses and collection points as soon as conidtions improve.
  • Delivering mail to customers throughout last weekend.
  • Using all available people and transportion to make additional deliveries to customers throughout the day and into the evenings this week.
  • Keeping our local enquiry offices open for longer so customers can pick up any items we've already tried to deliver to them.

We're really sorry for the inconvenience caused by any unavoidable disruption to mail services.

    Special Delivery™

Whilst we're continuing to accept, prioritise and expect to deliver the majority of Special Delivery™ items posted before the last posting date of 23rd December, the impact of weather conditions in some areas means some items may experience a delay as they move through our pipeline. This means we cannot guarantee next day delivery of all items in all areas so, to provide customers with clear guidance, the Special Delivery guarantee remains temporarily withdrawn. We will reinstate the guarantee as soon as we can deliver the next day service guarantee in full."
